Methuen - Anita D. (Jackson) LaTorre, 93, of Methuen, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.Anita was born in Haverhill on November 6, 1930 and was the daughter of the late John M. and Doris (Williams) Jackson.Anita was raised in Haverhill and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1948. After high school she moved to Beacon Hill in Boston where she met her husband Joseph C. LaTorre. They moved to Lawrence to start their family and later moved to Methuen and raise their five children. They were married for 61 years.Anita was an avid reader, enjoyed her Word Seek Puzzle Books, and was a big fan of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.While raising her five children she worked for an insurance company and later worked at the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, Kealey Farms in Salem, NH., and BJ's Wholesale Club in Salem NH, and Sunrise, FL. She enjoyed spending time with her family.Anita was the beloved wife of the late Joseph C. LaTorre. She was the loving mother of Jo-An LaTorre of Andover, Rhoda Mae LaTorre and her partner Tom Arcand, Robin LaTorre, Bonita LaTorre and Joel J. LaTorre, all of Methuen.She was the sister of the late George Jackson, John Jackson, Frank Jackson, Frederick Jackson, Robert Jackson, Raymond Jackson, Elaine Chabdourne and Caroline Cornelius. She was the cherished grandmother of Megan Harveston and Sean Davis. She was the great-grandmother of James DuCote and Taylor DuCote. Salem - Roy Emerson, 74, of Salem, NH passed away on Friday, July 26th surrounded by his loving family. He grew up in North Reading, MA and graduated from No. Reading High School, Class of 1967 and he received his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University. He served his country in the US Air Force. Roy began his career as an insurance adjuster later owning and operated ITS for many years. Roy also owned and operated Emerson Landscaping. Roy was a Master Mason and was a member of the Spicket Lodge #85 in Salem and a member of the Scottish Rites and a 32nd degree Shriner. Roy enjoyed his family camp on Pequawket Lake where he was president of the lake association. He started a yearly family camping weekend which has become a tradition. Roy enjoyed being outdoors.He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 55 years, Ellen Emerson of Salem; his 4 sons, Roy Emerson, II of Salem, Gregory Emerson and wife Alicia of Salem, Jason Emerson and significant other Brenda Behling of Salem and Mark Emerson of Atkinson, NH; his 8 grandchildren, Benjamin, Jacob, Sydney, Cali B, Lola, Mason, Garrett and Reagan and his brother Edward Emerson and wife Dianne of FL He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Emerson and his sisters-in-law, Patricia Holbrook and Kathleen LaCarbonara.Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31st from 3:00 – 7:00 PM followed by a Masonic and funeral service beginning at 7:15 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Salem - Charles L. (Chick) LoPiano was a man who loved deeply and was loved greatly.Originally from Lawrence, MA and through his life Salem, NH, Chick passed away peacefully at age 86, on Sunday, July 22. He was married to his love Cathy, who gave him the nickname Chickie and everyone called him by that name for the next 62 years. They have been retired and living in Naples, FL for three years.He was born September 1, 1937 in Lawrence to Angelo and Margaret Rita LoPiano. Margaret passed away in 1945 and Angelo later married Eileen Buckley, who adopted him and his sister Mary Louise.Chick and Cathy were devoted to their four children — Michael, Lauren, Jonathan and Jillian — and raised them in Salem. Every snow day when the kids woke up, he would recite his favorite poem "The First Snowfall." Over the years, he was a fixture at Salem High football games, baseball games, wrestling matches and gymnastics meets.As much as he loved his children, his true pride and joy were his grandchildren: Michaela, Cara, Victoria, Isabel, Rhys and Rhiannon, and his great-grand daughter Penelope. He proudly attended all his grandchildren's events and activities and could always be found drinking coffee out of a grandchild's college mug.Chick was actively involved in all aspects of life in the Merrimack Valley. As a child, he was active in the Lawrence Boys and Girl's Club, and was a member of the Lawrence YMCA for over 75 years. He pioneered the Head Start Program in Lawrence and the Lawrence Community Boating Program. He could often be found at his favorite restaurants, including the Bishop's, Phoenician and Shadi's.Chick spent every summer at Salisbury Beach. When he was young, he worked as a lifeguard and loved to tell stories about his teenage job at the Bowery. He often would drive the long way home to stop at Hodgie's Ice Cream for a chocolate frappe. The family still enjoys life on North End Blvd at the 'Crabby Shack' and takes their hangover cure of a dip in the ocean seriously.Chick was famous for his love of music and "Chick-isms". "Time to Say Goodbye", by Andrea Bocelli could often be heard at home. "The Race is not to the Swift, but to Those who Endure" is a pearl that will be remembered his children and grandchildren.The family said goodbye to Chick privately in Naples and requests donations be made in his name to the Lawrence Boys and Girl's Club. A celebration of our extraordinary husband, father and Papa will take place August 24, 2024 at Cataudella Funeral Home in Methuen, MA from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Lawrence - Catherine P. Smith, 91, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Lawrence General Hospital.Catherine was born on October 21, 1932, in Boston, MA to the late George and Annie (Kirk) Harper. Catherine was raised in Newton, MA. She lovingly raised four children in North Andover and shared a beautiful marriage for 60 years with Robert Smith. Catherine worked at K-Mart in North Andover and Fairhaven, MA, and later retired as an office manager from Ocean Spray in Middleborough, MA. Upon retirement, she and her husband relocated to Haverhill, MA, and spent winters in Port Charlotte, FL. Her last residence was at Marguerite's House in Lawrence, MA, where she enjoyed wonderful friendships and camaraderie.Catherine is survived by her daughters, Linda Pineau and her husband, Raymond of Windham, NH, and Karen Knuepfer and her husband, Stephen of North Andover, MA. She is also survived by her son, Robert F. Smith of Starks, ME, and her son-in-law Robert Crean of Salem, MA. Continuing Catherine's legacy are her eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Robert Smith and her daughter, Diane Crean.A funeral mass will be held for Catherine on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Church in North Andover, MA. Newton - Joseph P. Danahy, Jr, 80, a resident of Newton. NH since 2015, died July 19, 2024, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.Born in Lawrence, MA, son of the late Joseph P. and Eleanor B. (Doyle) Danahy, he graduated from Lawrence Central Catholic High School with the Class of 1961 and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Merrimack College in 1965. He later received his Master's Degree in Labor Relations from the University of Rhode Island.Mr. Danahy began his career in labor relations with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union in New York City, and later retired after thirty-five years as the International Director of Labor Relations. Following his retirement, he worked in Washington D.C. for the U.S. State Department as a consultant in labor relations for Croatia. His final career was working as a consultant and broker for many years at Clipper Bay Yachts in Rose Haven, MD.A resident of Danville, NH for 10 years before moving to Newton, Mr. Danahy was a longtime member of the Lawrence Chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 8. He enjoyed golfing at Atkinson Country Club and maintained a lifelong passion for sailing, especially on Chesapeake Bay. He was an avid traveler throughout Europe and chased the Northern Lights in Iceland and Alaska.He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his best friend and devoted wife of thirty years, Cidalia (Cabral) Danahy, a daughter Kasey Johnson and two grandchildren, Lucy and Rion, all of Colorado, a brother William F. Danahy, his wife Anna and son Joseph of Woburn, MA, his brother-in-law Richard Fenton of Atkinson, NH, a number of nephews and nieces and many longtime friends. Nashua - Patricia Reardon was born in Haverhill MA and was raised there as well as Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, FL. She graduated from S. Broward High in Hollywood Florida and then moved to Haverhill, MA. After high school she went to work for a bank in Haverhill and she bought a little red convertible. It was her pride and joy. She attended two years at college before getting a job with Raytheon in Andover, MA. She worked as a confidential, private secretary for the Engineering Department. Her career there lasted 28 years.Upon retirement she spent her time working for 15 years at Canobie Lake in Kiddie Land running the rides. In 1969 She moved to Salem NH and loved raising her two girls. In 1974 while her oldest stayed with her in NH her youngest daughter returned to Indiana and resides there still.Patricia loved the beach and spent vacations in Hampton where her daughter and family rented a beach house. She loved long walks on the beach out on the trails, but her best times were when she went dancing. When Lorie married, she loved the family gathering with the in-laws. Holidays were always a grand time for her.Her proudest moments were in 1974 when after graduating she took her oldest daughter to Bishops for Dinner and her first legal drink. While sitting there the lights went out as they lost power. The waitresses went around the dining room with candles and lit one at each table. They both laughed Hysterically. Who would have thought they would be in a romantic setting.During her retirement she would have weekly dinners and shopping with her daughter. Before going home after shopping they would share her favorite candy, a mounds bar.In 1981 she became grandma to two grandsons. Lorie and Tammy had their children four months apart. In 2112 she became a proud great grandma to fraternal twins, plus three other great-grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren called her Nonnie, and their love and affection filled her heart with joy.In 2015 Patricia had a stroke and lived with her daughter for a year until October 2016, then she was moved to Greenbriar Healthcare and Nursing Facility now known as Premier Rehab and HC. Patricia was 88-years-old.Patricia is survived by daughter Lorie (Ayers) Cahalane and spouse, Steven A. Cahalane, Tammy Jo (Ayers) Lamb and Albert J. Lamb, Grandsons, Matthew Cahalane and Larry Allen Lamb. Great-grandchildren, Noelle Cahalane, Maddox Cahalane, Tyler Lamb, Brianna Lamb and Alivia Lamb, her youngest siste Brenda (Irving) Potter and many nieces and nephews. Methuen - Daniel M. Traficante, III, 56, of Methuen, MA, passed away July 24, 2024, at Beth Israel–Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was born in Lawrence, MA, and was the son of Daniel and Pauline (Routhier) Traficante of Salem, NH.Raised in Methuen, Dan was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and attended Bentley University. He worked as a manager for several local restaurants, most recently the Darden Restaurant Group. Dan also worked as a recruiter for many large companies including Entercom Communications Corporation. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, spending time at the beach, and playing guitar.Besides his parents, Dan is survived by his pride and joy- his sons, Daniel Traficante, IV of North Andover, MA and Anthony Traficante of Londonderry, NH; his sisters, Wendy Babbitt of Methuen, MA, Nicole Cunneen and her husband James, Jr. of Pelham, NH, and Alyson Traficante of Salem, NH. Methuen - Philip J. Lahey, Jr. 76, of Methuen, died on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.Philip was born in Lawrence, MA on May 7, 1948 and was the son of the late Philip J. and Lena M. (Grassi) Lahey.Philip was raised in Methuen and was a graduate of Tenney High School, Class of 1966. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and later graduated from Northern Essex Community College with a degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for the city of Methuen in the DPW department for 33 years until his retirement. He was very active within the city of Methuen, serving as a councilman. He was the co-founder of Merrimack Valley Prevention and Substance Abuse Project, co-hosted TV shows and podcast "The Empty Chair: Exposing Addiction," as well as facilitating the "Circle of Hope" a support group for the loved ones of addicts. Selflessly helping others, breaking the stigma of addiction, prevention and education were his passion and legacy. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and relaxing on his recliner with his dog Bailey.Philip was the beloved husband of Francine M. Lahey. He was the loving father of David M. Lahey and his wife Suzanne of Derry, NH., Colleen J. Lahey of Methuen, MA, David M. Dougenik and his wife Lisa of Lynn, MA., Laurie A. Dougenik of Lynn, MA. Haverhill - Alex Pegnato_1957--2024_ passed quietly on June 17th.Alex lived his life close to the North Shore where he walked the beaches and enjoyed the outdoor Summer Blues concerts. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and sharing his love of music, classic movies, and the outdoors. Many years were spent skiing and hiking in the Mount Washington Valley.He was an avid student of history, and loved to discuss and debate history and politics. As a resident of Haverhill, he was a committed citizen and engaged local officials as an active contributor to the good of the city.An alumnus of Babson College with a BS in Finance, he was also a lifelong member of MENSA and long term employee of Bank of America. He adored his wife Corinna, and their cat, Lionel.Alex leaves behind his wife, Corinna Evrard, and immediate family: his beloved Mum, Sadie Pegnato, his brother Paul (and sister-in-law, Mary), sisters Lisa and Dayna and brother-in-law, Patrick Kiley, his nieces and nephews. Lawrence - Barbara J. MacDonald Fournier, 94, of Lawrence, passed away on July 18, 2024. Barbara was born on December 29, 1929, to the late Samuel and Lillian (Veaco*ck) Marshall in Lawrence MA.Barbara was a graduate of Johnson High School and after school went on to work for Fred C. Church for 45 years. She was a lifetime parishioner of the First Calvary Baptist Church and was very involved in the community for most of her life.Barbara is survived by her nieces and nephews Jay Garvey, Nancy Marshall, Paula Chafe, Linda Marshall, Ruth Wilson, David Marshall, Ellen Routhier, Catherine Harnisch, and Scott Marshall and her sister-in-law Mildred Marshall.A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 11am at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St. North Andover MA, 01845. Groveland - Glen G. Hamilton, 66, of Groveland passed away peacefully at his home after a lengthy illness. Glen was born in Haverhill. He was the son of Gordon H. and Ethel L. (Weeks) Hamilton. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School - Class of 1976 and worked many years as a sales associate at Esty Lumber in Groveland. Glen grew up on Whittier Road in Haverhill and was on the board of trustees for the John Greenleaf Whittier Birthplace for many years. Glen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He spent several years as a caretaker for his best friend David Thompson of Groveland. He was a father, son, brother, grandfather and friend to all. Glen is survived by his mother Ethel L. Hamilton, his wife Marie C. (Ferreira) Hamilton, his daughter Ashley E. Hamilton and her fiancé Jason Bertholdt of Amesbury, MA, his son Seth G. North Andover - Jane H. Munroe, 90, of North Andover, MA, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 due to complications from a fall, just seven weeks after the death of her beloved husband, Dick.Jane was born in 1933 and raised in Andover, MA. She graduated from Punchard High School in 1951. She met the love of her life, Dick, at Punchard; they wed in 1952. Jane accompanied Dick while he served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956, living in St. Louis, MO; and Oakland, CA. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, Dick and Jane spent several years in Burlington, MA and Oakland, NJ before returning to Andover in 1967.Jane was a loyal employee of Phillips Academy in many capacities, ultimately as the headmaster's secretary for many years. After "retiring" in 1998 and moving to Cape Cod, she continued her work life as a secretary for a construction company and as a caretaker for Home Instead Senior Care. Jane and Dick moved to Methuen in 2009, where her passion was volunteering. In Methuen and after moving to Edgewood in North Andover, she transported seniors to doctors appointments for Elder Services and knitted for children and people in hospice.Jane was a faithful member of the West Parish Church in Andover since childhood. She enjoyed baking and sharing desserts with family and friends. Jane loved square dancing, reading, bingo, 45s, game shows, and above all, spending time with her family. As Dick's health declined, Jane was his loving caregiver for a number of years.Jane will be missed by her son, Donald, of Nashua, NH; her daughter, Nancy Corsaro, and her husband, Frank, of Methuen, MA; and her grandsons Matthew and Michael Corsaro, of Methuen, MA. In addition to her husband of almost 72 years, Jane was predeceased by her parents, Dudley and Fannie Young, her brother Allen Young, and a cherished aunt, Ruth Kilburn.

Haverhill - Eileen (Insero) Faulkner, age 82, passed away on July 18, 2024, in Haverhill, Massachusetts.Eileen was born in Haverhill on July 26, 1941, the only child of Anthony A. and Bernice (Migliori) Insero.After graduating from Haverhill High School in 1959, Eileen received her BA degree in French Language Studies from the University of New Hampshire. She continued her studies at the State University of New York in New Paltz, NY, and received an MS in French education.Eileen loved teaching and taught French for over 30 years at New Paltz High School. She was known for upholding rigorous academic standards and pushing her students to learn and excel. She also took a keen personal interest in her students and left an indelible impression on the lives of so many of them.Eileen also taught with the Language Immersion Institute, as well as the undergraduate and graduate French programs at SUNY New Paltz.In 1991 Eileen was honored by Cornell University for her influence over one of her former students who attended the university. A four-year academic scholarship was established in her name, the Star Scholarship. Eileen is survived by her daughter, Michèle (Faulkner) Dollar; her son, Scott Faulkner and his wife April, and by her three grandchildren whom she adored: Landon and Aidan Faulkner, and Brieanna Dollar. She is also survived by her former student, Andrew Sendall, whom she always called her second son, and who helped her tremendously during her life and especially end-of-life. Eileen learned to ski at the age of 50, and she and her longtime partner, Larry Healy, skied in Colorado and Utah as well as across the East Coast. She said the hardest exam she ever passed was the Professional Ski Instructors of America Level 1 Amateur Ski Instructor test.She loved to travel and visited France extensively over the years, as well as Italy and Switzerland.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Monday, July 29 from 10-11:30 AM at the H.L. Methuen - On Saturday, July 20, 2024, the world lost one of the most caring, loving and loyal individuals. Vincent "Jimmy" Oliveri, 93, the son of immigrant parents, Maria (Russo) and Salvatore Oliveri, grew up in a cold water flat on Lawrence Street in Lawrence along with his 4 siblings Sam, Lucy (LoPiano), Mike and Frankie.Jimmy joined the United States Navy at 21 and served during the Korean War on the USS Hobson as a radarman. After the tragic accident of April 26, 1952 in the North Atlantic involving the USS Wasp aircraft carrier and the USS Hobson minesweeper, when all but 61 of his crew members were lost, Jimmy miraculously returned home to marry his sweetheart, Vivian Shibel and the rest is history.He loved going out dancing with Vivian, enjoying the music of the day including Frank, Tony, Tommy Dorsey and Erroll Garner. Jimmy was a long time member of the Methuen Knights of Columbus Council #4027. As a devout Catholic, he served as an usher at both St. Augustine's and St. Monica's parishes. The beach may have been one of his favorite places where he enjoyed many family vacations over the years. He was an avid bowler, loved his Red Sox and vegetable garden and played bocci and 45's with a passion to win.Jimmy leaves his loving wife of 72 years, Vivian (Shibel) Oliveri; his adoring daughters, Cheryl Oliveri-Daly and her husband, Dan, and Karen Grevenitz and her husband, Scott; his beloved grandson, Cory Grevenitz and his wife, Nicole; and the newest member of Jimmy's family, his cherished great grandson, Luke Vincent. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. Atkinson - Joseph F. Sheehan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the age of 89. Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Ann Marie (Hofbauer) Sheehan, his 6 children and their spouses, Katherine (Kitty) and her husband Andrew Pinard, Margaret (Peggy) and her husband Daniel Ball, Terence (Terry) and his wife Deborah (Liehe), Mary and her husband Michael Brady, Patricia (Patty) and her husband David Butterfield, and Maureen and her husband Andrew Griffin; his 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons; his sister Rita and her husband Alex Monteiro; and many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his sisters Helen, Elizabeth Doherty, and Mary Edwards.Joe was born in Brighton, MA, on July 5, 1935, and was raised in Somerville, MA. He graduated from Merrimack College with a Bachelor of Arts and then went on to Boston College, where he earned a Masters of Social Work. He moved to Newark, NJ, where he started his first job with United Way. He and Ann Marie were set up on a blind date by two priests in September 1963. They were engaged in November and married the next May. Joe and Ann Marie moved to Youngstown, OH, in 1964, where Joe started a new job with United Way. Their first two daughters were born there. In 1965, they moved to Pittsfield, MA, when he became the Director of the new Anti-Poverty Program. In 1967, they moved to Bloomfield, NJ, where he began working at the National Council on Aging. Their son was born there. They settled in Melrose, MA, in 1970 and welcomed three more daughters. Joe began working for the Massachusetts Dept. of Elder Affairs until his retirement in 2000. In 2007, after seeing all their kids settled with their own families, Joe and Ann Marie moved to Atkinson, NH. During his 37 years in Melrose, Joe was an active member of St. Patrick's Parish in Stoneham as a lector and a CCD teacher. After joining the parish at Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish in Plaistow, NH, he continued to serve in these roles for many years.Joe was devoted to God and to his family, and he was always grateful for his happy marriage to Ann Marie. He spent his life in service to others and was never afraid to make the right choice, no matter how difficult. His children loved to tease him about his singing voice, his favorite sayings, and his fondness for formality and structure. This was a bit of a losing battle after having 6 kids and 16 grandkids, but he never gave up. North Andover - Mary Anne (Costello) Roche, 85, of North Andover, passed away peacefully on July 22nd with her children by her side.Mary was born in Lawrence, MA to Arthur and Helen (Borucki) Costello. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School.She held many positions through the years at the Lawrence Gas Company, Sears & Roebuck and Lead Teller at the Merrimack Valley Bank in North Andover. She cherished her most important position as wife, mother and nana. Her family was everything to her. She was a proud mom and adored her 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.She married the love of her life and best friend Richard (Dick) Roche in 1958. Together they raised four children and built their life in North Andover for over 60 years.The decades spent at their home on Salem Street with neighborhood family parties and annual yard sales were special times for Mary.She loved fashion, home decor and gardening. Machesney Park, - Joseph "Joey" Bernard Donohue, Jr., age 64 and a native of Lawrence, MA, passed away on July 5, 2024, at his home in Machesney Park, Illinois with Jesus by his side. While Joseph was valiantly battling several chronic illnesses, his sudden death still came unexpectedly and way too soon. Joey, as he preferred to be addressed, was born on December 29, 1959 in Methuen, MA to Joseph and Rosalie (Pekarski) Donohue. He was a proud 1977 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA. After attending Northeastern University and then working at Raytheon and Western Electric, Joey eventually became a loyal U.S. Postal service employee, where he served for over 25 years before retiring.Joey was an incredible and talented athlete. While growing up, he cherished his Sunday mornings when he routinely played ball with his father and brother, Mike and talked about those memories often. He played four years of baseball at CCHS and was captain of the team his senior year. He also played football and was a force to be reckoned with. Furthermore, he played for the Lawrence American Legion baseball team. After high school, Joey got involved in power lifting, which became a passion in his life. He won various championships and was most proud of his 1984 first place finish in the National Bench Press competition for the 2751b Division. Once he reached his goal in powerlifting, Joey shifted his focus to the martial arts, pushing himself until he received his first-degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do. He loved the Zen philosophy of the martial arts and practiced that mindset daily.Anyone who met Joey could not soon forget him. He was the life of the party and his sense of humor and unique personality were legendary. Stories involving "Joey D" will be told in bars and around kitchen tables in Lawrence for generations to come. When one fondly remembers Joey, the following philosophy would apply: "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways proclaiming holy s***, what a ride!" Joey especially loved the ocean, fast cars, guns, sports (especially the Patriots), classic rock, family, friends and most importantly, Jesus.He was deeply dedicated to helping those struggling with addictions of any type and was a proud member of AA. He surely saved more than one life with hisI support and words of wisdom and he genuinely prayed for all alcoholics and addicts on a daily basis.While Joey seemed larger than life with his stories and experiences, his greatest attribute of all was his beautiful, kind, gentle, humble soul. He was everybody's friend. Knowing or even meeting Joey made one's life better. Words cannot describe the love in his heart.Joey's surviving family all live in the surrounding area and include his children Meaghan and Ryan Donohue, sister Maureen and her husband Joseph Forzese, brother Michael Donohue, niece Karissa Forzese, nephew Michael Donohue and his wife Stephanie, great niece Madison Donohue, Aunt Marie Pekarski and multiple cousins. He also leaves behind his loving "adopted" family in Illinois, Barbara and Tessa Rose and his "grandson" Shaun Joseph, also his namesake. His passing leaves us all with cherished memories and a deep void that can never be filled.Joey was preceded in death by his mother Rosalie (in whose arms he is surely at peace after losing her when he was only seven days old), his father Joseph, stepmother Phyllis, infant sister Mary (twin of sister Maureen), Grandfather William Pekarski and special Aunts Mary and Bernice Pekarski who helped to raise him, special cousin Christopher Pekarski and many other relatives and friends that he is surely joyously reunited with in Heaven. Becotte, 88, of North Andover, died Friday, July 19, 2024, at Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by his loving and devoted family.Ed was born in Lawrence, MA, on May 3, 1936, to the late Rene and Irene (Couture) Becotte.He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and received his bachelor's degree from Merrimack College and his master's degree in engineering from Northeastern University.Ed served his country in the Air National Guard as a member of the 102nd Fighter Wing Squadron with deployment to France for the Berlin Crisis. He was employed as an engineer and manager of MIT Lincoln Laboratory's Flight Facility in Bedford, MA. He enjoyed sailing, fishing, and gardening; and he continued his lifelong love of flying as an active member of the 495th RC Squadron in Tewksbury, MA, flying his radio-controlled airplanes.He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary (Keane) Becotte of North Andover, his son Michael Becotte and wife, Nancy, and his daughter, Susan Gifford and husband Bradley. (Talley) Neubauer, 97, of Haverhill passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18 at Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport MA.Nannette was born in Tampa, FL the daughter of William Alexander and Marietta "Maude" (Taylor) Talley. After tragically losing the love of her life Don, at age 39, Nannette rose to the occasion to become the family leader that she was, raising four children alone and simultaneously building a successful real estate career. Nannette was the managing real estate broker for the Keyes Company in Coral Gables, Florida for many years. Later in life after remarrying, she was able to travel the world, becoming an avid skier in her fifties and spending time with family and her grandchildren, as well as cuddling her "great grand babies". She was a longtime member of Hialeah & South Miami United Methodist Churches where she was active as a wedding consultant, the United Methodist Women and other church groups. Nannette was a lover of dogs until the very end and had a wry sense of humor to make people laugh. She was well-loved by all and will be missed.Nannette is survived by her daughter, Diane (Craver) Boucher and her husband Keith of Haverhill,sons Donald Craver and his wife, Trish of Summerville, SC, Durwood Craver of Summerville, SC and stepson, Richard Neubauer, Jr., of Port Orange, FL. Bedford - John Charles Friel, 83, a former resident of North Andover, MA, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA.The son of the late Charles N. and Katherine E. (Meehan) Friel, John was born on June 11, 1941, in Haverhill, MA and was a 1960 graduate of North Andover High School. He served 13 years with two tours of duty in the Unites States Army during Vietnam. John earned two Purple Hearts and the Oak Cluster with two Bronze Stars. He saw service in Turkey, Germany, Okinawa, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. John also served at Fort Devens. MA, as well as being in the Army Security Agency. John had worked in the Teamsters Union as a truck driver for some 20 years with Daly Drug which then was bought out by Cardinal Health. North Andover - Elizabeth "Liz" Ann (Allen) Dunigan, a resident of North Andover, and beloved wife of the late Francis Dunigan, passed away at the Meadows Health Center in North Andover on Friday evening, July 12, 2024.Born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, on March 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Scholtes) Allen. Despite the hardship of losing her father in a coal mining accident when she was just four years old, she was fortunate to have a strong-willed and resourceful mother who made all of their clothes, grew their own vegetables, and started a chicken and pig farm to feed the family and barter for other supplies. Liz always had a positive outlook on life and looked back on her childhood in Shamokin as the best anyone could ask for. Her family and the local townspeople made things as special for them as best they could. As a child, Liz and her younger brother had many responsibilities, including being enemy aircraft spotters during World War II.Being a good student with excellent math and problem solving skills, Liz had planned to attend college to study civil engineering. Unfortunately the anticipated scholarship program was canceled. Needing to pivot to something that she could afford, she went to Misericordia School of Nursing in Philadelphia. That was lucky for her (future) children, for soon, Frank Dunigan, a young seminarian at Villanova University was one of her patients and they fell in love. Frank left the seminary, and they were married in October of 1956, the day after Frank graduated from the Navy's Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island.Liz and Frank, and ultimately their five children, criss-crossed the country with each new naval assignment. Liz held down the home front during this period, including Frank's tours in Vietnam. After Frank left the Navy, they continued to move to numerous states for his work. In 1974, while Frank was working at the Pentagon, Liz went back to work as a nurse. Shortly thereafter, she fulfilled her dream of getting a college degree by attending Marymount College on nights and weekends, while working full-time and raising her five children.The family moved to North Andover in 1978. After managing a care-at-home nursing service and running the shipping department of Malden Mills, Liz became the Plant Manager of Big Apple Textile Mill in Lawrence, an unusual position for a woman in the early 1980s. But, she was highly-respected by the rest of management, and her mill-worker teams, for her leadership and problem-solving abilities. Sadly, Frank died unexpectedly in1989. Despite losing the love of her life, Liz once again put one foot in front of the other and carried on, making the most out of her life. Following her retirement in 1996, she (now "Nana") enjoyed providing pre-school and after-school care to several of her grandchildren. Nana loved nothing more than to spend time with her grandchildren, traveling, playing games and teaching them special family recipes.As a coal miner's daughter from central Pennsylvania, she never imagined her future adventures and world travels, including Australia, Russia, most of Europe, and all 50 U.S. states. She was thrilled to take her extended family on trips to Hawaii, Paris and London. At age 84, she traveled to Prague, Vienna, Budapest, and took a Baltic cruise. She was a life-long learner, an avid reader, loved playing bridge and was a die-hard Boston sports fan. She will be dearly missed.Liz is survived by her loving children: Michael Dunigan of Methuen; Patricia and her husband, Scott, Krasovec of Haverhill; Timothy and his wife, Lorraine, Dunigan of Henrico, North Carolina; and Anne and her husband, Dennis, O'Donovan of Windham, Maine; brother; William Allen of Shamokin, Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren (Katie and Jake Dunigan, Jack, Will, and Ben Krasovec, Meghan and Erin O'Donovan) and many nieces and nephews. Salem - Timothy Higgins, age 71, of Salem, NH died February 27, 2024 at Hannah Dustin Nursing Home in Haverhill.Tim was born to Frank Higgins and Marie (Gately) Higgins on August 23, 1952 in Haverhill, MA. Tim graduated from Haverhill High and Haverhill Trade School. He married Jane Dufresne in 1977. Tim worked as a cable technician and later for Shoe Carton Corp. He and his wife invented "The Power Spiker" and later sold the rights.Tim was an avid golfer and volunteered at the Bradford Country Club. Atkinson - George Norman Valvanis, 67, of Atkinson, NH, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 17 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by his loving family.He was the son of the late Mary and Norman "Nundy" Valvanis and born on their 2nd wedding anniversary on April 24, 1957. George was raised in a home filled with love, happiness and a strong Greek Orthodox faith.George dedicated much of his time to volunteering with Rebuilding Together, frequently inviting his family to join him on his birthday, which he considered the best gift. He was a member of AHEPA Chapter 39, served multiple terms as President of the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church and donated dozens and dozens of donuts and coffee to anyone who asked.Above all, he cherished moments spent with his family. Whether he was golfing with his three sons or attending Celtics games with his daughter and angel, he felt truly complete when surrounded by his loved ones. George's greatest joy came from being a "Papou" to three grandchildren: Olivia Mary, Vivian Cheryl, and Nundy Robert Valvanis. Boxford - Cornelius Joseph McCarthy, a beloved husband, father, and pillar of the Merrimack Valley community, passed away peacefully at his home in Boxford, MA on July 10, 2024, at the age of 88.Born in Methuen, MA, Cornelius was the son of the late George J. Wolfeboro - Virginia Marie (Lord) Fortier of Wolfeboro, NH, formerly of Melrose and Andover, MA, passed away on July 13, 2024 at the age of 97, following a long and beautiful life. Known as Ginny to her friends and Gigi to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was born to Alice and Harry Lord on August 17, 1926 in Medford, MA.Ginny attended Melrose High School and graduated with the class of 1944. Following graduation, she attended the Chandler School for Women in Boston. After her graduation from Chandler, she was invited to remain at the school to assist Dr. Frank Palmer Speare, the first president of Northeastern University as he wrote his memoirs. She later worked in the financial field in Boston.In 1955 she married John Fortier of Melrose, and they spent 63 wonderful years together before "Jack" passed away in 2018. Ginny and Jack started their family in Melrose, where Ginny was a member of Kappa Delta Psi, as well as being a Campfire Girl leader. While living in Melrose they purchased a cottage at Lake Ossipee in New Hampshire, where they and their children enjoyed many fun-filled summers. They moved from Melrose to Andover in 1971, where she worked as a realtor at Doherty Real Estate, and was active with the St. Augustine School. Her mother Alice lived with the family for a few years in Andover, where she was beloved by her grandchildren. After they became empty nesters, they moved to a lakeside condominium at Point Breeze on Lake Wentworth in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Not being the retiring type, Ginny went to work for Maxfield Real Estate, where she made many sales and many friends. They also enjoyed years of warm winters with friends in Vero Beach, FL.While living in New Hampshire, she and Jack were avid golfers. Ginny made two holes in one in her life, one at Five Chimneys (now Province Lake Golf course) and another at Kingswood Golf Club where they were both members and frequent prize winners. Ginny was also an accomplished tennis player for most of her life. Later in life, she and Jack resided at Sugar Hill Retirement Community in Wolfeboro, where Ginny made even more friends and memories.Ginny is survived by her four children, Jane (Thomas) Howe of Atkinson, NH and Vero Beach, Fl, Paul (Cynthia) of Andover and Gloucester, MA, Carol (Jim) Davis of East Wakefield, NH, and Christine (Michael) Crittenden of Bradford, MA and East Wakefield, NH. Haverhill - Arthur Karl Wicks, Sr., a lifelong Haverhill resident, passed away surrounded by his family on July 15, 2024. Born in Haverhill, he was the youngest child of William D. Wicks, Sr. and Sarah (Foss) Wicks. Arthur was a 1948 graduate of Haverhill High School and in the early 1950s, Arthur met the love of his life, Patricia M. Peck, while working together at Cranton Oil in Bradford, Massachusetts. In 1952, the couple eloped and were married 66 years until Patricia's passing in 2018.Arthur had a keen eye for business and a desire to work hard and began by raising chickens to sell at the family home on Wellington Avenue. Throughout his life, Arthur found himself involved in numerous business endeavors. He was a builder and constructed many of the Cape Cod style homes that you see around Haverhill, Massachusetts, Atkinson, New Hampshire, and Sanford, Maine. He also had a unique eye for finding properties and rehabbing them into beautiful homes for resale.In his later years, Arthur was actively buying, renovating, and selling homes. Patricia and Arthur would go on to purchase and run the Sea Den Motel in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire for many years. They were also heavily involved in the retail liquor industries, owning several local liquor stores including Plaza Liquors, White Street Package Store in Haverhill, Pare's Liquors in both Haverhill and Methuen, Massachusetts along with Broadway Liquors in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Arthur held a license as a Real Estate Broker in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire along with a Construction Supervisor License. He also served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.Arthur was a lifelong member and Deacon at the former First Congregational Church of Haverhill. He was an avid boater and spent countless summers at his home in Meredith, New Hampshire on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. He loved the water and enjoyed waterskiing and jet skiing. He stayed active by walking and going to the gym well into his early nineties. He was an avid reader, still preferring to get his news from the daily newspaper and would read two to three newspapers a day. He loved nothing more than going for a ride for a cup of hot cocoa and a donut at Heavenly's or an ice cream cone in his red Cadillac while listening to big band music, and songs by singers such as Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash and Elvis. He was the king of Monopoly and checkers, never losing a game. He enjoyed spending time doing genealogical research with his granddaughter, Kaitlin, tracing family roots back to the American Revolution. He had the bushiest eyebrows that his family had ever seen and took considerable pride in how large they were, refusing to ever trim them.Arthur is the husband of the late Patricia M. (Peck) Wicks, who passed away in 2018, and the father of their beloved son, Arthur Karl Wicks, Jr., who passed away after a courageous battle with Leukemia at the age of 3. He is also predeceased by his three siblings - Barbara Calnan, Ruth Hoffman, and William D. "Jack" Whittaker, 86, of Haverhill, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA with his loved ones surrounding him and as a family, praying together as he passed into eternal life.If one could use words to describe Jack, they would be faith, family, and country. His faith was rooted and cultivated in his family, growing ever stronger throughout the years. He also became certified to teach his trade.Jack was a proud Marine who served his country in Okinawa and the Philippines. Atkinson - Paul A. Caron, age 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, died on July 13, 2024 after a courageous four year battle with stomach cancer. He was born in Manchester, NH, on October 12, 1948 to the late Louis P. and Yvette (Boisvert) Caron of Goffstown.He graduated from St. Edmond's Elementary School and Bishop Bradley High School of Manchester, NH, where he was a member of the color guard and the track team. He attended Saint Anselm's College in Manchester, graduated from the Boston School of Cytotechnology in Boston, MA, and earned his Bachelor of Psychology degree from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH.Paul was a member of the New Hampshire Air National Guard and worked as a cytotechnologist for thirty years in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He also worked part-time in the paint department at East Coast Lumber and had a successful career as a cell culture tech at Marine Polymer Technologies in Tewksbury, MA.He earned his black belt in karate from Oriental Healing Arts Association and, also studied and taught Tai Chi. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 95 in Atkinson, and was especially proud of his Eagle Scout son, Matthew and his Life Scout son, Sean. He was also an Assistant Soccer Coach for the Youth Soccer League of Plaistow.Paul was a member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish at Holy Angels Church, where he was an adult altar server and Eucharistic Minister. He was also a proud Third Degree member of the Saint Jude Council 6617 of the Knights of Columbus, Plaistow.Paul leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-two years, Justine (Marcelonis) Caron, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew and Rena Caron of Litchfield, NH, and Sean and Chrissy Caron of Brentwood, NH. Hampton - David W. Magee Jr, (Dave) of Hampton, NH died peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the age of 91. Dave was born on December 14, 1932 in Somerville, MA, the only child of David W. Magee Sr and Helen Magee.David was a graduate of Somerville High School in 1951. He joined the US Coast Guard after his graduation and was stationed locally in Revere, Mass, and was often found swabbing decks and serving his country for 3 years with pride and enthusiasm.In High School, Dave met his High School sweetheart, Ona Magee. They were destined to be together, and they married in 1952, and remained happily married for over 67 years until Ona's death in 2019. They started their family in Somerville, MA , then moved to the "country" in Tewksbury, MA where they raised 4 children, David, Ron, Donna and Lynne.After the Coast Guard, Dave went to College earning his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. He was always working and going to school at the same time. Throughout the years Dave was very committed to school and earning several graduate degrees while working and raising a family. He instilled this love of learning into his children.His College degrees helped him to obtain a job in Engineering at New England Electric Company. He worked there for many years, rising through the ranks and obtaining promotions and recognition along the way. He retired from New England Electric (REMVEC) when he was 60.Dave was always a lover of sports. Every Boston team was his favorite. He was a baseball umpire at the High School and College level for many years. He also was a baseball Coach to his kids and many others. He was a believer in mentoring children in all sports, from starting a boxing league through his church to baseball and basketball coaching.Ona and Dave wintered in the Florida Keys for many years, forming many bonds over the years. Ona and Dave also have many friendships that they formed through the Couples Club at the United Methodist Church in Tewksbury, MA.They had the bug for travel and often were found on cruises and trips with many friends. They owned a home in the Florida Keys and he sailed every chance he could get. The family summer home in Maine was also a favorite, and the entire family has wonderful memories of many summers of swimming, barbecuing, fishing and family fun.In 2019, Ona and Dave moved to Hampton, NH where they both lived in Cornerstone of Hampton until their deaths. Recently, Dave was able to celebrate a lifetime achievement award at Cornerstone with his family and friends surrounding him. He will always affectionately be known as "the mayor" of Cornerstone where his sense of humor, his positive attitude and his joke telling skills shined a light on all.In addition to his 4 children, David W. Methuen - Nellie J. Rigoli, 89; of Methuen, MA; passed away peacefully after a brief memory care respite at Bridges of Andover. Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the second daughter of the late Victor Consoli and Irene (Grasso) Consoli. Nellie attended Holy Rosary grammar school and graduated from Lawrence High School.She was the wife of Charles R. Rigoli, with whom she shared sixty-eight wonderful years of marriage. Nellie and Chuck's love story began when they were teenagers and ran with the same crowd of friends from Lawrence, MA. Chuck knew he wanted to marry Nellie immediately, but after a movie date with accompanying noisy popcorn-eating, Nellie almost called the whole thing off. Of course, they were later married at Holy Rosary Church on November 20, 1955 and went on to form a strong, loving partnership in life, where they were devoted to caring for each other and all members of their family. Dedicated to her family, and with an unwavering desire to be at the ready to assist and provide for them, Nellie stayed at home to care for her children until they graduated from college. Later, she enjoyed babysitting her adored grandchildren and visiting them whenever possible. Chuck and Nellie were a team in creating their family life in Methuen and Salisbury Beach, and in nurturing the new members who entered their family with love, patience and humor. After Chuck's retirement, he and Nellie became snowbirds, traveling to South Palm Beach for several winters, where they made many happy memories dancing, socializing and trips to the opera.Nellie was predeceased by her siblings Mary DiFrancesco and Santo Consoli.In addition to her husband, Charles R. Stoneham - Anthony D. Palumbo, 93, of Stoneham, MA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at High Pointe Hospice House. He was the beloved husband of Irma (Montagna) Palumbo, with whom he shared seventy-one years in marriage.Born and raised in Boston, son of the late Domenic and Grace (Ramasci) Palumbo, Anthony was a graduate of Blackstone High School, on the West Side of Boston. He later enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country in the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home to Boston.In 1953, he married to his sweetheart, Irma, and they settled in the Cambridge, MA, area eventually moving to Medford, MA, where they raised their two sons.A truly gifted artist, Anthony was most proud to have a sculpture he created of a Blacksmith which is on display at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts; a piece that did find its way around the world to be displayed for so many to enjoy.Devoted to his family, he loved to spend time at the ocean with his wife and boys. Always present for his family, he generously did all he could do to help them navigate through life. He enjoyed sharing his tomato garden with all, a place where he found much peace. Methuen - Robert D. Gerardi, 91, of Methuen, MA, passed away on Thursday , July 11, 2024 at the Salem Haven Nursing Home.Bob was born in Medford on September 8, 1932. He was a graduate of Medford High School. After High School Bob was drafted into the Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was deployed to the Rhine Engineering Depot in Kasienlauten, Germany. He received an honourable discharge and continued his education at Northeastern University. He graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree. Bob furthered his education with additional courses and classes at Merrimack College. The day after graduation from Northeastern University, he and his college sweetheart, Marion were married. Bob got a job with Western Electric and moved to North Carolina to start his career and family. After a few years he was transferred to the North Andover branch. Bob and Marion settled in Methuen, MA.During High School and college Bob had a band that would play at weddings and other events. He loved golf, travel and woodworking. He made a cradle for his grandchildren and various items for Hickory Hill where he worked after retirement. He also worked at Buchika's Ski Shop after retirement during the winter. Bob was known for his friendly smile and loved by all who knew him. For many years he was a town meeting member in Methuen and very active in the St. Theresa Parish Council, serving on the finance council.Bob was the beloved husband of Marion Gerardi. Simard, 70, a resident of Plaistow for the past 43 years, died July 11, 2024, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, after a brief illness.Born, raised, and educated in Haverhill, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Claire (Demers) Simard, and graduated from the former Haverhill Trade School in 1972. Methuen - Gaetano Bruno, 84, of Methuen, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Derry Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Derry, NH surrounded by his loving family. Gaetano was born to Lucia (Cantella) and Lucio Bruno in Villarosa, Sicily, Italy, on September 8, 1939.As a young man in the mid-1960s, Gaetano immigrated to the United States in search of a better life. First settling in Lawrence, MA, he met and married his wife, Salvatrice (Brancato) Bruno, a few years later in 1968. The couple eventually moved to Methuen, MA in 1977, and, in 1979, welcomed their only daughter, Lucia Rosa Bruno, into their lives.Gaetano worked tirelessly as a carpenter at The Raytheon Company, dedicating 25 years of service to ensure his family was well taken care of and felt loved every day. His craftsmanship was visible in every project he undertook. Gaetano's devotion to his family was the hallmark of his career and life, and after many years of hard work, he laid down his hammer and retired in 2007.The greatest love of Gaetano's life was his daughter, Lucia Rosa. He would move mountains for her, always standing by her side with unwavering support. Together, they created countless cherished memories – filled with laughter – of camping adventures, beach days, sun-drenched vacations, fine dining, singing, and dancing.Most remembered as an avid gardener, Gaetano's green thumb brought life to a remarkable variety of plants and trees. His garden showcased his passion and dedication, filled with everything from ripe, juicy tomatoes to a variety of fruits and nuts. Gaetano found immense joy in nurturing his garden, and his rich harvests – year after year – were evidence of his hard work and deep connection to nature.Gaetano's enthusiasm for card playing showed how much he enjoyed the simple things in life. In fact, some of his happiest hours were spent squeezed around his dining table, sipping on limoncello, and playing endless card games with family and friends. Whether it was a friendly game of Thirty-One or an intense round of Forty-Fives, his jokes and competitive spirit made every game memorable.Gaetano was a pillar of strength, both physically and emotionally. His determination was evident in every challenge he faced, never faltering in his commitment to his family and friends. He tackled life's difficulties with courage, providing comfort to those around him.Gaetano's legacy is deeply felt by the many people he helped through his generous nature. He was a handsome, giving, selfless, and fun-loving man whose presence brought happiness to everyone around him. Melanie was the second born of her four siblings; she became her older sister's best friend instantly and later became an amazing older sister to her younger sister and brothers who have always looked up to her.Melanie graduated from Methuen High School and worked for The Eagle Tribune for 26 years. Her co-workers became her second family and she cared deeply for them all.Melanie lived with her fiancé, David, their beautiful daughter, Kayla and her granddog, Millie.Melanie enjoyed shopping, puzzles, and collecting plants, willow trees, and Hummels. Most of all, her family was always her number one priority.She loved her daughter with all her heart and was extremely proud of the woman she became. Melanie loved spending time with her entire family. Her siblings were her best friends and she loved them more than anything and making memories with them was her favorite thing to do. She shared a lifetime of memories with her fiancé, David, who she was with for 27 years. Melanie loved going to family parties, and although she was always late, she made up for it by being the last to leave and making everyone laugh. There isn't a person who met Melanie who didn't feel loved and welcomed by her. She was kind to everyone she met and made lasting impressions on all those who crossed her path. Andover - Peter P. Rubenstein, a longtime resident of Andover, MA and the beloved husband of the late Linda H. (Hanson) Rubenstein, died peacefully at Salem Haven Rehab & Hospice in Salem, NH on June 25th.Peter was born on April 27th, 1932 and raised in Newton, MA.Peter was the founder and President of Pressure Techniques. Among other things, his company sells, installs and services systems that deliver ozonated water throughout commercial food plants. He pioneered this practice which serves to increases food safety, extend shelf-life and reduce the reliance upon chemical sanitizers.When not busy working, he and his wife Linda enjoyed spending time together and travelled regularly on vacation to the Caribbean and Tanglewood in the Berkshires. Peter donated to several charities including the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. Lawrence - Mae Aplin Murray Judge, life-long resident of Andover-North Andover, died Friday, June 28, 2024, after a brief illness.Mae was born in North Andover on April 27, 1932, and was welcomed into this world by her parents, John and Beatrice (Aplin) Murray, and elder sister Bea.Mae attended North Andover schools and graduated from Johnson High School in 1950. She was very active in extracurricular activities and was voted Best Dressed, Class of 1950, a true portent of the passion for clothes and shopping Mae enjoyed all her life.After a short stint at MacIntosh Business School, Mae began a 40-year career at Western Electric in North Andover. In addition to her professional contributions at Western Electric, Mae was recognized for always being first to arrive for work every morning (best parking space!), the occasional lunch-time martini at Butcher Boy Restaurant, and her continued enjoyment of extracurricular activities as an enthusiastic member of the bowling, chorus, and theater groups.Mae's retirement years were happily spent traveling extensively with her husband Homer and friends, eagerly participating in the charitable endeavors of the Western Electric Pioneers, welcoming neighbors and friends for hours of delightful visiting and gossip as the heart of the Highland Road-Heather Drive neighborhood, and enjoying hours of leisure with her constant companion, Barney the basset.Mae shared fond memories of rollicking youthful summers living with friends at Salisbury Beach and winter weekends traveling north as a member of the Lawrencian Ski Club. Mae collected and kept countless friends along the way and was loyal to all.Mae was beloved by her family and many friends for her refreshingly candid and vibrant personality. Mae loved a good laugh and instigated many. She would want to be remembered for her easy and hearty laugh, her stellar fashion sense, and her good-hearted sass.Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; parents, John and Beatrice; and sister, Bea Carlson. She is survived by her step-daughters and their families: Nancy, Gus, Kate (Mark and Sidney Licari), and Rien Rosenheim; and Laurie, Billy, Max, and Mary Goldstein. Mae is also survived by many loving friends. Methuen - Edmund (Eddie Mann) Mansor was called home to a heavenly 45's tournament above. How apropos for him to depart on July 4th. He was fiercely independent, celebratory, and a firecracker.Surrounded by his devoted family, he passed away at Masconomet Health Care Center in Topsfield, MA.His grand entrance into the world was on July 12, 1931, in Zanesville, OH, to the late Elias and Rose (Sargis) Mansor.After relocating to Lawrence, MA, he spent his childhood here and attended Lawrence Schools.Eddie was raised by his selfless teenage sisters, Leona and Eva, when his mom passed away when he was two-years-old.Eddie had an amazing life; he was blessed with the Mansor voice and tried to pursue a professional music career. He recorded "Amado Mio" and. "You Are My Sunshine for the Seeco record label. His stage name became. "Eddie Mann".He won many talent shows and sang in local and Boston nightclubs.Unfortunately, he did not get his big break. He also sang with his father and brothers in the St. Anthony choir.Who knew that on Holy Thursday, 1952, he would have the first date with the love of his life, Roberta (Bobbie Debs) Mansor, while going around to various churches and singing? That date led to seven and a half years of courting, and they would have celebrated their 65-year wedding anniversary on September 13, 2024.He worked tirelessly in Lawrence Shoe factories (his favorite) job. He was in sales for Sunshine Biscuits and Bestline Soaps.He was an entrepreneur. He purchased the Playboy Club and worked with his friend, the late Pat Fiorino.He and his late brother-in-law, Eddie Debs operated. "Eddie Mann's" Restaurant and Lounge, where he worked alongside his nephew, Stephen Debs.His entrepreneurial spirit continued as he was co-owner of Run-Away Travel, where he put his wife to work.In 1986, he purchased Joe's Fried Dough in Salisbury Beach for his daughter. He, his wife, and his daughter became "The Three Musketeers "working together.In his retirement, he helped open Lit 'il Bit of Everything Florist for his daughter and created another job opportunity for his wife. He climbed the corporate ladder at the flower shop. His first position was a delivery driver (a job he disliked), and he was promoted to head of sales during the holidays.Many afternoons were spent at Rockingham Park with his late brothers-in-law, Ferris Debs, and Alfred Delpozzo, with whom he owned racehorses. Among them were Ye-Ye, Ervs Greatheart, Worldly Wise, JM Billy, and a Proper Toff.Eddie lived in Methuen most of his adult life. He enjoyed vacationing at Light House Cove in Pompano Beach, FL, and Salisbury Beach, where he made lifelong friends.He was a crackerjack of a 45's player. He will be missed by his friends at the Crescent Yacht Club, the Dolphin, and his "brothers" at the United Lebanese Club.Family was the center of his life. In addition to his beloved wife, Bobbie, and cherished daughter, Paula, he is survived by his best friend and son-in-law, Stephen Laliberte.He was known as "Jid" to Jarred Laliberte, and "Jiddo to Stevie Laliberte. He treasured his grandchildren and loved them big. He also leaves great granddaughter, Nevaeh Laliberte and sister-in-law, Grace Mansor. "Uncle Edmund "and "Unk" will be missed by his nieces and nephews, whom he loves so much.Eddie was predeceased by his brothers, Arthur and George, with whom he shared a special bond.They traveled together, played cards, and created many Memories.At his welcoming party in Heaven, he will be greeted by his late siblings, Leona. Salem - Bernard "Barney" S. Dolan, 90, of Salem, NH, passed away on Monday morning, July 8th, 2024, at the Salemhaven Nursing Home.Barney was born on March 23, 1934, to Alice (Bartlett) and William J. Dolan. He was raised in Lowell, MA, where he received his education at St. Peters School. Barney spent his career as a truck driver and automotive school instructor. Upon his retirement, he worked as a bartender at Salisbury Beach. He had a large personality that could command any room. Barney always had stories to share and jokes to tell. He was never at a loss for words. He'd be quick to tell you "I tell it as I see's it"He loved driving and was known to drive for hours with his wife Tena just to get out and get a good cup of coffee. Barney loved traveling and was able to visit 48 out of the 50 states.Barney's greatest love was his six daughters and their families. He was so loved by his girls and the rest of his family. Lawrence - Felipe Augustus Hernandez, 20, of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 after a lengthy and valiantly fought battle against depression and anxiety. Born on April 27, 2004, they were the son of Jorge and Katherine "Kate" (Lennon) Hernandez.Felipe was raised in Lawrence, MA and educated at St. Augustine's Andover and Central Catholic High School where they were a member of the cross country and swimming and diving teams. They had the sweetest, sensitive soul, loved nature, and gave the best hugs. Felipe looked to change the world for the better - all of it to be done through unconditional love. The world simply was not ready for this quiet and steadfast leader and for that we have lost an earthly presence of this advocate of love. Felipe gave grace to those who held different beliefs and acknowledged the importance of that diversity of thought. Felipe was an empath who felt everything deeply. The pain that they saw and experienced through others is what drove them to spread the message of unconditional love. Their personal experiences led them to use their talent for Chemistry and the social sciences to further their studies in psychology and pharmacy with the hope of helping others.Felipe was an avid theater participant and spent several summers performing at Advice to the Players Shakespeare camp in Sandwich, New Hampshire as well as Acting Out in Lawrence. In recent years, Felipe was a proud and active member of NAGLY, a LGBTQIA2S+ youth advocacy organization in the North Shore. They were a musician to their core, played piano and guitar and had a beautiful singing voice. Felipe was a fan of Pokemon, anime, Gorillaz, MCR, and was among the top 1% of Green Day fans on Spotify. They had a kind heart and valued inclusivity and acceptance. They gave of themselves fully to all through to the end, including in the leaving of their earthly body as an organ donor.Felipe will be dearly missed and is survived by their beloved parents, Jorge and Kate (Lennon) Hernandez of Lawrence, MA, loving brother, Alexander Hernandez of Lawrence, MA; grandparents, Richard and Eileen Lennon of Tamworth, NH, and Jose and Martha Hernandez of Inglewood, CA; as well as their aunts and uncles, Dan and Stacy Lennon of Carlisle, MA, and Ana and Roberto Rodriguez of Inglewood, CA. Methuen - Pamela Koscielniak passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on June 29, 2024, after a long illness. She is now dancing with her beloved husband of 43 years, Edwin Koscielniak, in heaven.Pamela is survived by her daughter Joy Berg and her husband Robert, daughter Susan Evans and her partner Jeff Evans, daughter Cynthia Zorn and her husband Daniel, son James Koscielniak and his wife Catherine. In addition, she leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Pamela was predeceased by her sisters, Linda Joy and Kathryn Alaimo.Pamela was born in Lawrence to Joan and Frederick Joy and lived locally all her life. She had a long and successful career in credit and collections for many local companies in addition to raising her children. After she retired, she spent many years volunteering for local charities, such as the Haverhill Garden Club, the Haverhill Library, the Peoples Pantry, Community Action, and the North Andover Thrift Store.Pamela very much enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid gardener and was known for stopping at every yard sale she passed by. Claremont - Donna Cameron Ellsworth, formerly of Andover, passed away on July 4, 2024 at the age of 91.Donna, the daughter of Catherine and Daniel Cameron, was born and raised in Worcester, MA. After attending Bancroft School in Worcester, she graduated from Centenary University in New Jersey.After marrying, she and her husband Donald Ellsworth settled in Andover, Massachusetts where they raised three children: Mary, Diane, and David. She was married to Donald, who predeceased her, for sixty one years. Donna and Donald were members of West Parish Church in Andover for more than fifty years, where Donna was an active member, serving on and leading many committees. Upon relocating to New Hampshire in 2013, they attended First Congregational Church in Claremont, where Donna resumed a busy role in church affairs.Donna was known affectionately as Gibs by an extensive group of family, friends, and relatives. She was the consummate hostess, and whether it was in the kitchen, in the garden, at a sewing machine or working at needlecraft, she created thousands of objects of lasting beauty. Many of her pieces have a place of pride in the homes of her family and friends, reminding us of her affection, talent and productivity. And while she was the epitome of a "proper lady." Donna was at the same time a champion for progress and advocated for causes including LGBTQ rights and the need for action on climate change.Gibs was the cherished matriarch of an extended family, and her grace, wisdom and boundless love will be missed. Andover - Maureen A. Milne, a life-long resident of Andover, passed away at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill on Friday evening, July 5, 2024. She was 87 years old.Born in Lawrence, MA, on June 29, 1937, she was the beloved daughter of the late Walter D. and Rosemary (Doyle) Milne. Maureen was retired from a job that she loved at Textron where she had been employed as a Pricing Estimator, for many years.Maureen was the caretaker for her aging parents. She was a longtime communicant of St. Augustine Church in Andover. Maureen loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed. West Newbury - Paul P. Johnston, 80, passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2024, with Jacqueline, his beloved wife of 59 years at his bedside. He spent his final days surrounded by his loving family.Born in Boston, MA on May 18, 1944, Paul was the second child of Frederick and Ruth Johnston, who moved their family to West Newbury when Paul was 8 years old. Country life suited Paul, and he embraced farm chores and proved himself capable, responsible, and dedicated from an early age. He fondly recalled working in the fields and stables at Orcland Farms on Crane Neck Street.In 1961, while judging cows at the Topsfield Fair, Paul's attention was also on 4-H contestant Jacqueline duch*emin. Believing they were meant to be together, Jacqueline announced on their first date that she would marry him. They were each other's closest and truest partners in every way from that day on.Paul graduated from Essex Agricultural High School in 1962, where he played pivotal roles on the football and basketball teams. In 1964, he graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a degree in Dairy Technology. Marriage followed in September that year, and sons Paul Jr., Eric, and Daniel were born in 1965, 1966, and 1968.As devoted as Paul was to his family, he was also exceptionally loyal to his employer. He quickly advanced from an entry level position to Plant Manager at the New England Milk Producers Association. In 1976, at 32 years old, he was promoted to General Manager of the largest dairy cooperative in New England, Yankee Milk. He led that cooperative and its successor, Agri-Mark, Inc. as President and CEO until his retirement in 2011, including through the acquisitions of nationally branded Cabot Cheese and the McCadam Cheese Company in New York.Recognized for his work ethic, leadership, and keen decisions, Paul served on the Boards and Executive Committees of the National Milk Producers Federation, the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, as well as other regional and national associations. Until this year, he was a Trustee of the "Big E" Eastern States Exposition in Springfield, MA. Committed to progress in the dairy industry, he pursued opportunities, overcame challenges, followed his intuition, and allied with farmers, distributors, and executives.Paul was a voracious reader of current events, history, and fiction, and nearly always had a book in hand. He enjoyed quiet weekends at Cole's Pond in Walden, Vermont, and spent many hours tending vegetable gardens. At family events, he was generous, witty, and wise – and deeply proud of the generations gathered around him.He leaves his devoted wife Jacqueline, son Paul and wife Gigi, son Eric and wife Deanna, son Daniel and wife Heidi, and grandchildren Kyle and wife Alex, Andrew, Lauren, Hailey, Ryan, Natalie, and Elias Johnston, all of whom will honor his memory over their lifetimes.Paul was predeceased by brothers Frederick Jr., Ronald and Robert and sister-in-law, Linda, and is survived by siblings Kevin and Mary Kate and sister-in-law, Christine, as well as many nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, on July 18, from 5 to 8 pm. Andover - Carole A (Pavenski) Lentz, 80, of Andover and formerly of Peabody, died Tuesday July 2, 2024, at the Seasons of Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late George H. Lentz, Sr., with whom she shared over 57 years of marriage.Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Stephanie (Iwan) Pavenski. She was raised and educated in Peabody.After her children were grown, Carole worked in the Andover Public system as a teachers Aid for 10 years before retiring years ago.She enjoyed traveling with her husband to Aruba, and going to other exotic places, but her most precious time was spent with her family, going to her daughter's basketball games at Merrimack College and watching her grandchildren grow to maturity.She is survived by her daughter Tricia Lentz of Nahant and her son George H. Lentz Jr. of East Northport, L.I. Methuen - Matthew Henry Baxter, age 90, husband of the late Marie Longo Baxter, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 with family and friends by his side at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill after a brief illness.Born in Lynn, MA to Leroy Baxter and Bridie M. Baxter Cronin, he served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. Matt was married to his loving wife Marie for 58 years until her passing in 2017.
