James Hilderbrand James B. Hilderbrand, 61, of 644 Beckman Kankakee, an industrial engineer for the A. 0. Smith company of Kankakee, died in Dusseldorf, Germany, yesterday. Mr.

Hilderbrand on a business trip. He is survived by his widow, Margaret; a son, Howard; and two grandchildren. Mr. Hilderbrand was a deacon of the First Congregational Church of Kankakee and had been associated with the Smith company for 15 years. Mrs.

Buck Ira D. Buck, 67, former Chicago resident and retired credit manager of Sears Roebuck died yesterday in Greensboro, N. C. Surviving are his widow, Rose; a daughter, Mrs. John Hunnemann; a sister, Mrs.

Health Educators Set 2 Day Chicago Meeting The Illinois Society of Public Health Educators will hold its 10th annual fall conference Nov. 17 and 18 in the Hamilton hotel, according to an announcement by Forrest Nelson, association secretary and acting chief of the state bureau of health education. About 60 persons are expected to attend.

Mrs. Alice Clock, 82, of 1111 Hinman Evanston, died yesterday in her home. Mrs. Clock was a book reviewer and lecturer from 1930 to 1950. She spoke weekly in the Edgewater Beach hotel for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Sheldon H. L. and James a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Hunt; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:30 p.

Survivors include his widow, Loretta; a son, James K. Donohue; and two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Wenzel and Mrs. Eleanor Tournier. Henry Goldblatt Henry Goldblatt, 72, of 341 Fair Elmhurst, died yesterday in Elmhurst hospital.

Mr. Goldblatt was a retired building contractor. Survivors include his widow, Jennie; a son, David three grandchildren, and four sisters. Services will be held at 2 p. m.

RECORD ARTIST DIES IN TEXAS ROAD ACCIDENT Milano, Nov. 5 (P)- Johnny Horton, 35, recording star, was killed early today in a head-on collision on a railroad overpass in this central Texas town. State police said Horton Horton was driving a car in which Tilman Franks, his manager, and Gerald D. Tumlinson were riding.

All were residents of Shreveport, La. Franks and Tumlinson were injured, as was the driver of the second car, James Evans Davis, 19, Brady, Tex. Horton, a singer of western songs dead on arrival at a hospital in Cameron. HEAD OF JONES DAIRY FARM IN WISCONSIN DIES Fort Atkinson, Nov. 5 Miss Mary Pettibone Jones, 81, president of the Jones Dairy farm, died at her home here today.

She had been head of the meat packing concern since 1936, and had been active in the management of the company for most of her life before that. Miss Jones was the youngest daughter of Milo C. and Frances C. Jones. Services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.

m. at the home here in which she was born and lived all her life. Body Pulled from River That of Hotel Tenant A body tentatively identified as that of Rudy Saefke. 83, of the Esquire hotel, 66 W. Van Buren was recovered by coast guardsmen from the Chicago river near Clark street early yesterday.

Richard Blondell, manager of the hotel, told police he had spoken to Saefke earlier in the day and that the old man had appeared angry. Blondell said Saefke had no close friends or relatives. Judge Frank S. Bevan Lincoln, Nov. 5 (UPD Circuit Court Judge Frank S. Bevan, 74, of Atlanta, died today of an apparent heart ailment. Bevan, Logan county's only 33d degree Mason, was graduated from the University of Chicago law school in 1910.

AUstin 7-2012. 1 I WARD BOND, 55, WAGON TRAIN TV STAR, DIES Began Playing Cowboy Roles in 1928 Dallas, Nov. 5 (PI Bond, 55, star of the television program Wagon Train, died of: heart attack today. He had flown into Dallas Ward Bond as he appeared in TV role. yesterday, and was to appear at a professional football game tomorrow.

He reportedly collapsed in the shower of his motel room and died before a physician could arrive. A family friend said that when Bond, a 200 pound man, collapsed, he fell against the shower door and wedged himself in. An ambulance crew had to take the door down to get him out. Never Sought Stardom Bond will still be seen on television nationally for. at least nine weeks.

The National Broadcasting company said nine Wagon Train episodes starring him are already on film. Bond had spent most of his life in show business almost in spite of himself. He claimed he never sought stardom. A graduate engineer from the University of Southern California, Bond broke into the acting business as a lark, and as a way to pay his tuition. graduated from U.S.

C. in 1931 and worked in movies for five years, making $500 a week, before I quit trying to get a job as an engineer," he once told an interviewer. A Matter of Money "I finally realized that an engineer in the depression didn't make $500 a month. So I've been an actor ever since." Bond had appeared in more than 100 horse operas since 1928, playing heavy and sidekick roles with such screen heroes of the past as Buck Jones, Tim McCoy, Ken Maynard, and Hoot Gibson. He took the role as wagon master in Wagon Train in 1956 and suddenly became a star.

The show has been among the top three television programs the last three years.
